Vanessa & Michael Maternity Session // Huntington Beach
Maternity sessions are some of my absolute favorites! Coming from an OB/Gyn background, I have always found it fascinating to see the stages from when a new mother finds out she is pregnant to the final outcome of seeing her with her newborn baby.
The creation of life is truly a miracle in itself!
I was so blessed to have worked with Vanessa and Michael for their maternity session. I was referred to Vanessa by her mom, which is a previous manager of mine. I met Vanessa via text and then chatted on the phone. I could tell right off the bat we would work well together which is one thing that I truly look for in my clients, I want to ensure I am the right fit for them and vice versa. As we discussed locations and wardrobe, she quickly let me know I could give instructions on what to wear because she trusted my advise which made me even more excited about the session. We set a date and a location. I always ask my clients what they envision for their pictures to look like, which gives me a better idea for location suggestions. We decided on the Huntington Beach Central Park. I love the versatility of this particular park and I somehow always seem to end up there which I love because I now know this park oh so well!
The day came for the maternity session, Vanessa, Michael and grandma to be, Theresa, were all there. Now Vanessa is a nurse and is on always on her feet. I told her to let me know if she got tired or if she needed a break at any point in the session we would stop. From past experience from being pregnant myself and doing maternity sessions, pregnancy can be very tiring and can also make mommas-to-be super hot and uncomfortable. Our maternity session started and what I instantly loved about both Vanessa and Michael was how open they were to instruction. Not once did either one complain about the poses I suggested. Another thing I adored about them was their their interaction with each other! They were both so considerate of one other and they were always laughing or giggling together which made the session that much smoother. I could tell some of the poses were uncomfortable at times for both but not once did they complain or decline to try anything. Even as our session was coming to an end and even got attacked by mosquitoes, did they ever complain. We walked to the car and I asked if I could get a few more shots because the lighting was so amazing, did they hesitate? Nope, they were team players all the way!
Their love and affection for one another was transparent, I can already tell what type of parents they will be....amazing ones!
Being new parents can be so rewarding but yet so challenging as well. Life is turned upside down. Your sleep goes out the window, your patience is little to none but this is the time where being one really comes into play and I can honestly say that these two will not only be a great team but will also the most loving parents to baby Wade!
Thank you Vanessa and Micheal for allowing me to be a small part of your biggest adventure to come!!
